Killarney to Welcome Competitors from 35 Countries for Ireland's Largest Orienteering Festival

Killarney is preparing to welcome almost 2,000 competitors from 35 countries as Ireland's largest Orienteering Festival comes to town from 24–31 July.

The week-long event is expected to generate more than 10,000 bed nights across the region, providing a significant boost for local businesses during the peak summer season. Hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, cafés, retailers and tourism providers are all set to benefit from the influx of visitors.

Organised by Kerry Orienteers, the festival will showcase some of Killarney's most spectacular landscapes, offering participants the opportunity to compete across a variety of challenging terrains while experiencing everything the region has to offer.

The event further strengthens Killarney's reputation as a premier destination for sports tourism and major international events. With competitors and supporters travelling from across Europe and beyond, the festival will deliver valuable economic benefits while highlighting the area's natural beauty, hospitality and world-class visitor experience.

Killarney Chamber welcomes the festival and congratulates Kerry Orienteers on attracting such a prestigious international event to the region. Events of this scale play an important role in supporting the local economy and reinforcing Killarney's position as one of Ireland's leading destinations for sport, tourism and outdoor adventure.

We wish all competitors, organisers and visitors an enjoyable and successful week in Killarney.
